Frank Mensah

Frank Mensah, born in Ghana. Came to Canada from Ghana 15 years ago. I spent my first 9years of that time in Brampton Ontario. Where attended my earlier educations. This was also the birth place of my wrestling career.

I got involved in the sport of wrestling at the age of 16 in grade 10 and have been working very hard ever since to make sure that my goals and expectations are successfully met. I have lost both parents in the process of working to obtain my life time goal as an Olympic champion. Nevertheless my hard work and determination began to show on my third year of wrestling as I captured my first junior provincial title. Then went on as a high school student to compete against Canada’s best junior university wrestlers at the Canadian Junior Nationals; as a chance to be called a national champion. During this intense competition, I managed to bring home a gold medal from the men’s Freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling. Which was a birth to Canada’s National Junior (under 20) World Team. Throughout those years my hard work has earned me numerous titles:

My hard work, love for the sport and determination has brought me here, along with the help of my coaches has carried out through out my college years and has afforded me the chance to the Douglas college NCWA team as captain during the 2006 season. we came placed 8th as a team out 53 colleges and universities from the united states of America. Teams including powerhouses such as: University of Central Florida, Grand Valley State University, Marion Military Institute, University of Georgia, University of Florida US Air force, Kennesaw State University, Ohio State University, University of Southern Indiana, University of Texas at Arlington and Texas Tech University. These are a few names on a long list of her performance teams. During the three seasons I have attended the NCWA Championship, I have captured a spot as 2x all American. 3rd place at the 2005 NCWA Championships and a 1st place finish at the 2006 NCWA Championships to become All American champion. During that season I was awarded MVP of the Douglas College wrestling team. As a senior, I shocked my coaches by placing 2nd at the Canadian Senior Championships. I have places in the top 3 each year after only losing to the champion. My never giving up attitude has earned me a spot on the senior developmental team and also a member of the 2006 University World Team.

Shortly after placing 2nd At the December 2007 Canadian Olympic trails. I pursued my passion as a full time Coach. I have been blessed to have had the chance to help several wrestlers and MMA Fighters in both the pro and amateur level. I am currently training and competing at a high level once again and still enjoying my passion for coaching and helping athletes get to their highest potential.
